The mission of the Children's Bereavement Center® is to restore a sense of hope for the future to children and families who have lost a loved one.

CBC opening new site in Broward county in September: The CBC mission, “to restore a sense of hope for the future to children and families who have lost a loved one”, is an ongoing, and highly needed, endeavor. We are making strides to expand the reach of the CBC, which began in 1999 with 8 children from 5 families. Our growth to a second program site in Miami Shores this past year has met with success, and is leading us towards even further expansion.  We have replicated the CBC’s Healthful Grieving Model at that second site and are now planning to move across the county line to a third program site in Broward/Fort Lauderdale.  Once again, we will be partnered with VITAS Innovative Hospice Care to assist in staffing the site and have contracted with NOVA Southeastern University (NSU) to house the new location at their Mailman Segal Center. The new program site is slated to open in September, with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
