CBC Group Participant Statistics

The CBC statistics show that in our 2011/2012 Program year and to date, we are serving over 550 children and families as active participants through our Peer Support Groups. Community outreach and training has increased awareness of our services, participation in our groups, and puts us in contact with thousands of community professionals, providers, and potential participants. The numbers reflected in the following charts for 2011/2012 reflect our year-end statistics for that period.  

CBC Peer Support Groups remain free and available to families of all ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. The demographic breakdown of CBC participants reflects that of Miami-Dade County for our combined sites (North and South Miami-Dade) and includes: Hispanic 31%; Non-Hispanic White 15%; African-American 13%; Multi-Racial 6%, and non-disclosing 34%. Percentages fluctuate given CBC’s open policy where new participants join monthly, however these numbers have been fairly constant over the past several years. Socio-economic status for Caregiver is: 19% reporting income earn below $25,000; 24% reporting between $25,000-$50,000; 13% earning between $51,000-$75,000, 26% earning above $75,000, and 19% non-disclosing. Referrals come from multiple sources including schools, agencies, community professionals, clinicians, family/friends, and others.

The Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (#CH10400) and contributions are tax-deductible under IRS regulations. CBC receives 100% of each contribution.
