CBC Group Participant Statistics

The CBC statistics show that in our 2010/2011 Program year and to date, we are serving upwards of 550 children and families as active participants through our Peer Support Groups. Community outreach and training has increased awareness of our services, participation in our groups, and puts us in contact with thousands of community professionals, providers, and potential participants. The numbers reflected in the following charts for 2010/2011 reflect our year-end statistics for that period.  

CBC Peer Support Groups remain free and available to families of all ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. The demographic breakdown of CBC participants reflects that of Miami-Dade County and includes: Hispanic 48%; Non-Hispanic White 16%; African-American 17%; Multi-Racial 15%, and non-disclosing 4%. Percentages fluctuate given CBC’s open policy where new participants join monthly, however these numbers have been fairly constant over the past several years. Socio-economic status for Caregiver is: 24% reporting income earn below $25,000; 28% reporting between $25,000-$50,000; 16% earning between $51,000-$75,000, 22% earning above $75,000, and 35% non-disclosing. Referrals come from multiple sources including schools, agencies, community professionals, clinicians, family/friends, and others.

The Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (#CH10400) and contributions are tax-deductible under IRS regulations. CBC receives 100% of each contribution.
