I began working in the CBC office in 2003 as an Administrative Assistant. That position, along with the duties, quickly expanded - just like the need for the CBC's services. Learn more about the CBC on our Homepage Check out others involved with the CBC... |
Dear Friends, When I first started working at the Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC), I had no idea the impact it would make on me as an individual. Sometimes you don't realize how much something can affect you until you really start to think about it. I had losses in the past, but that's where they were (mostly) - in the past. I began working here two months after my father-in-law died. Then there were multiple deaths of distant family members and friends of the family all within a year. Probably just a coincidence, all of it. Maybe not. Working here has helped me to understand loss. I have listened to stories of loss nearly every day answering the phone in the office. It's heart wrenching hearing of a new or recent loss in a family. When the loss is all so new for them and difficult for them to speak about. They call the CBC for help. The CBC needs to continue to be here for them. Please consider supporting the CBC and all it does for the children and families of our community. Thank you very much. Elaine
