I became a volunteer with the CBC in 2002 because I was aware of the many losses of my students during my teaching and college counseling tenure at Ransom Everglades School. Although I initially assumed I would be working with children or teenagers, it turns out that I work with the adults, the parents, guardians or other relatives of the children, who participate. In our weekly group meetings, it is gratifying to hear the adults say how much support they and their children have gained from the CBC. The participants inspire me because of their strength in spite of their grief and in their determination to seek help for their children. It is exciting to see the program growing and reaching more families.

Dear Family and Friends,
In these difficult economic times, I know that there are many claims on your generosity. Indeed, it is because I know that you are kind and caring that I send this appeal.
Please help by supporting the Children’s Bereavement Center, an organization that continues to promote the well-being of children and families who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. Since 1999, the CBC has been providing a safe and nurturing environment where children who have experienced the death of a family member can come to feel support and a sense of belonging.
Groups are provided free of charge and families are welcome to participate as long as they like. Currently, the CBC holds peer support groups for over 300 children and family members each month.
Your contribution in any amount will ensure that these children continue to get the support they need.
