Dear Family and Friends,
A few years ago I chose to become involved as a board member and volunteer leader for the Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC). This organization is extremely beneficial and a powerful support system for children and families that have lost either a parent or a family member. CBC offers not only peer support, but education and listening, which is vital when you believe you are alone in a world of grief. The service we provide is free of charge. We serve over 300 children and family members each month.
As you know, I have been through this experience with my children when I lost my wife, Lyn, to a rare auto immune lung disease in 2000. We all must deal with grief at some point in our lives, but as in situations like mine, the CBC brings hope, encouragement and support to young children, teens, spouses and hundreds of South Florida families in need.
I encourage you as family, friend or community member to add your support to such a worthwhile organization. Even after we grieve, the cycle of life must continue, and your contribution will help others find healing and happiness after substantial loss.
Your contribution (any amount helps), will ensure that these children continue to receive the support they need. Please consider whatever you can afford to help us provide a safe and nurturing place for the many children and the families we serve. The impact of our program (the only one of its kind in our community) is nothing short of tremendous.

The year is coming to a close and you might be considering different tax strategies to give to your favorite charities.
