Meredith Halsey I have been volunteering at the CBC since 2000. During high school, I was a teen facilitator in the elementary and high school peer support groups. Currently, I facilitate the high school group and co-lead the young adult group. Learn more about the CBC on our Homepage Check out others involved with the CBC... |
Dear Friends and Family, The Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) is a not-for-profit organization that provides free professionally guided peer support groups for grieving children and families. The CBC offers a safe and nurturing environment in which children can feel comfortable expressing their feelings about loss and learn to grieve healthfully. The CBC is the only organization in South Florida to offer such services to children. I have a special appreciation for the CBC because I understand personally its value. When I was ten years old, I experienced a significant loss. At that time, the CBC did not exist, but I know I could have benefited greatly from the services it provides while adjusting to my loss. During my years as a volunteer facilitator in the CBC’s support groups, I have seen firsthand how participants respond positively to their experiences there. Because it does not receive government funding, the CBC relies on charitable donations to provide the $1,200 needed to cover the cost of each child participant per year. Please help our community’s grieving children and families continue to get the support they need by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Children’s Bereavement Center. Any amount will help. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Love, Meredith
