As the CBC’s Executive Director and co-founder, I am focused on the future of the CBC. It has been a mission that has been supported by a remarkable staff, a team of dedicated volunteers and community of caring and invested supporters who are all responsible for the CBC’s development. It is with this team that we continue our mission to provide hope and healing to all our children and families.

Dear Family and Friends,

There is a lot to worry about these days, especially for families who have suffered a devastating loss.  More than any financial challenge, the loss of a loved one, a family member or dear friend can leave a family hopeless and shattered. Fortunately, our community has the Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) to turn to.

The CBC is approaching our 13th year. We have, thanks to the caring of generosity of our community, become a safe haven for thousands of family members; children, teens, college students, parents and relatives who have attended the CBC.

Thanks to your contributions, our outreach has extended to providing professional consultation to educators and healthcare professionals throughout the community.

We've opened a group for college students and twenty-somethings on the University of Miami campus. And this coming year we will license a new CBC site in collaboration with VITAS healthcare and University of Miami Hospital on the campus of Miami Country Day School.

The need is unending. Each year more and more families seek out our support at this critical juncture in their lives. We remain the only full service bereavement support center serving families in South Florida. Please help us to continue to offer free bereavement support, so that kids and families can find hope and healing once again.

Warmly,

Mindy

Please Donate Now

The year is coming to a close and you might be considering different tax strategies to give to your favorite charities.   You may want to look into your stock portfolios for any highly appreciated stocks and donate them in kind. You may be able to avoid the taxes on the sale and may also get a nice charitable deduction as well. Please consult your Investment professional and your tax advisor to be sure this strategy is appropriate for your individual situation.
